Recently returned from a luxury tour of Peru. I have to say it was the best trip I have ever been on. Peru is an amazing country. Great people food and culture. I would like to say thank you for all the help you have given me to prepare for this trip. Everyone from Escaped to Latin America to all the people and the local partners were amazing. The trip was seamless, no worries at all. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything flowed perfectly. The only suggestion I have is to book the domestic airline travel with Lan and not Taca. We had a small issue with Taca, they way overbooked the flight to Cusco and we were transferred to Lan airlines. Lan was very professional in all aspects. Our group of 10 just returned from a tour organized by Escaped to Latin America and had a really wonderful experience. Our tour included Peru (Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Aquas Calientes,Machu Picchu and back to Cusco and Lima). In Peru we were taken care of by a local company who were excellent. The trip was originally put together by Sam (from Escaped who unfortunately is now in Argentina) and one of our team. We were taken care of every step of the way, from being checked into flights to advice on avoiding altitude sickness. Our Cusco guide Milton was great. He showed us round the Sacred Valley and also did our tour on our return from Machu Picchu. When there was an error on the invoice, I received an unsolicited email from the general manager Mark Smith that provided reassurance that errors are rare and that there would be no errors during the trip. Your good planning, made this trip almost seamless in our movement about–remarkable in a developing country. All of the Inca area, Cuzco, MP and Sacred Valley, fascinated us and I wish we could have spent more time in your magical historic city of Cuzco. The Talara visit was a great success, helped by meeting an older man who worked at one time for the firm my father did, and who assigned us his car and local driver to tour with, first as his guest and then allowing us to hire the driver for the next day–we explored the coast up beyond Mancora. The trip was seamless and worry-free. There was always someone to pick us up at each destination and take us to our next departure; the drivers and guides were all courteous, punctual and helpful. It was fabulous having a private guide for the two of us in the Amazon where it is imperative to be quiet, and being in a large group would have been challenging on the trails. David Kennedy was especially helpful in the planning of the trip. He was readily available to answer all questions, and speedy in responding to e-mail or voice mail messages if we left them while he was out of the office. I have travelled a lot to Europe and never have I experienced such professionalism, graciousness, kindness as I did in Peru. The people were wonderful. I would like to especially mention our guide Carlos in Puno. He went above what was expected from a tour guide. It was so comforting to know that there was someone every step of the way. There were many enjoyable highlights of this trip and we would like to thank you again for organizing the itinerary. My first experience in Lima (I flew into Lima in the morning, Teresa flew in late at night) was facilitated by a wonderful agent of yours, a young man named Julio. He transferred me safely to my hotel, checked me in, spent some time with a Miraflores map to show me where I could take a walk to see this lovely barrio in Lima. He even suggested a place to eat and sites to see. After he was sure that I had everything I needed to enjoy the rest of the day in Lima, he helped complete a web check-in for the flights to Cuzco the next morning.
